State BJP Yuva Morcha president resigns after woman party worker alleges assault, threats and mob violence, triggering a major political stir in Pune region.

Mumbai, October 31, 2025: The state president of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Maharashtra has resigned following serious allegations made by a female office-bearer of the youth wing. The incident has created ripples within party circles in the Pune region. A 36-year-old woman, who is also an office-bearer in the Yuva Morcha, filed a complaint alleging that on October 26 at about 2:30 p.m., she was assaulted and threatened by a group of party workers linked to the youth wing. She claimed that male and female members confronted her at a residence in Chinchwad, verbally abused her with obscene language, threatened to kill her, and claimed they were acting on instructions from the Yuva Morcha chief. She further alleged that when she approached the Chinchwad Police Station to register the complaint, two of the accused reportedly assaulted her inside the station premises. Outside the station, after filing the complaint, she said a mob of nearly 100 people again threatened her. The initial FIR listed seven accused; the name of the Yuva Morcha state president was added subsequently after pressure from the complainant. Hours after her Facebook live appeal and the registration of the case, the youth wing chief submitted his resignation, citing “false allegations” being made against him and stating that his continued tenure could tarnish the party image. He declared that his family had been dedicated to the party for decades but to protect the party’s reputation he was stepping down. Investigation into the incident is now underway by the police, and the political implications are being widely discussed across the local party’s organisational structure.
