Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police foil planned DMIC-Bidkin robbery; three men arrested while three women escape

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar’s Bidkin police stopped a planned robbery near the DMIC zone, arresting three men while three women fled. Cash, bikes and weapons worth ₹1.77 lakh were seized.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar |08 December 2025:Police in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar averted a late-night robbery attempt in the DMIC-Bidkin industrial stretch, arresting three members of a gang suspected to be preparing for a violent looting attempt. Acting on specific intelligence, Bidkin police received information that a group was planning to stop vehicles and rob commuters on the Paithan–Niljigav route near the DMIC’s C-10/D-10 sector.

A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Shelke and Sub-Inspector Manoj Patil reached the locationand conducted a coordinated search. Officers spotted suspicious movement and surrounded the area, intercepting the suspects before the planned crime could take place.
Three men were detained on the spot, while three women who were allegedly part of the same group managed to escape into the dark. The search for the absconding women is ongoing.
Police seized cash, two motorcycles, sharp weapons, mobile phones and other material valued at ₹1.77 lakh. Officers believe the gang had chosen the isolated DMIC-Bidkin zone due to low night traffic and limited surveillance, making it ideal for stopping vehicles.A case has been registered under relevant sections related to robbery planning, illegal possession of weapons and conspiracy. Investigators are also checking whether the group has links to other similar crimes in the region.
Locals have welcomed the quick action, saying the incident highlights the need for stronger night patrolling in the fast-developing DMIC belt. Police said regular patrols will continue, especially in vulnerable industrial and connector routes.
