The Indian Army conducted Exercise Agni Varsha at Pokhran, showcasing integrated combat capabilities, precision long-range fires and network-enabled operations before foreign defence journalists from twenty-five countries in Rajasthan’s desert sector

Pokhran | 25 February 2026: The Indian Army, under the aegis of Headquarters Southern Command, conducted Exercise Agni Varsha at the Pokhran Field Firing Ranges on 24 February 2026 to validate operational preparedness and integrated combat capabilities in the desert sector.

The Integrated Fire and Manoeuvre Exercise focused on the coordinated employment of combined arms, precision long-range fires and network-enabled command and control in a realistic battlefield scenario in the Thar Desert. The exercise demonstrated the combat effectiveness of mechanised forces operating in synergy across multiple domains.

Foreign defence journalists from twenty-five countries witnessed the demonstration, observing the speed, precision and firepower of the Army’s Combined Arms Forces in a desert environment.

The Integrated Manoeuvre Force included T-90 Main Battle Tanks, Infantry Combat Vehicles, K-9 Vajra self-propelled artillery systems, Sharang and Bofors artillery guns, rocket platforms, indigenous ALH Weapon System Integrated helicopters and Apache attack helicopters, along with a range of surveillance and strike drones.Advanced technologies such as unmanned aerial systems, counter-drone capabilities, precision strike rockets and networked surveillance systems were integrated into the exercise, reflecting ongoing efforts toward technology infusion and indigenisation.
