Fujifilm has expanded its popular instant camera lineup with the launch of the Instax Mini 13, a beginner-friendly analog instant camera that focuses on ease of use, portability and social photography. Positioned as the successor to the widely successful Instax Mini 12, the new model introduces subtle but practical upgrades aimed at younger users and instant photography enthusiasts.

The biggest addition to the Instax Mini 13 is its dual self-timer system, offering both 2-second and 10-second timer options. The feature is designed to improve group shots and selfies, allowing users to place the camera on a surface and comfortably join the frame. Fujifilm has also included a small angle-adjustment accessory integrated into the wrist strap to help position the camera during hands-free shooting.

The camera retains several features from the previous generation, including automatic exposure adjustment, built-in flash, selfie mirror and close-up mode. Fujifilm says the Mini 13 is designed to deliver quick and effortless instant prints without requiring manual settings or technical knowledge.

Design-wise, the Mini 13 adopts a softer, rounded exterior with pastel colour options including Candy Pink, Frost Blue and Lagoon Green. The compact camera continues to use Instax Mini film and operates on AA batteries instead of rechargeable USB charging, a decision that has sparked mixed reactions among reviewers and users online.

Online reactions suggest that while many users appreciate the new self-timer feature, some believe the Mini 13 is only a minor upgrade over the Mini 12. Several Reddit users described the changes as “small but useful,” particularly for social photography and casual gatherings.

The Instax Mini 13 is currently priced around ₹8,499 in India and targets consumers seeking a fun, affordable and stylish instant camera experience.
