Mumbai, April 11, 2026 A major development has emerged in the ongoing investigation related to alleged digital evidence linked to Kharat, where forensic experts have recovered a large cache of electronic devices and storage media believed to contain sensitive and objectionable content. The operation has intensified scrutiny as investigators continue to examine the scale and nature of the digital material.

According to officials, the forensic team has confiscated a laptop, four pen drives, and a 64 GB OTG device during the search operation. Preliminary examination suggests that the seized materials contain a significant volume of data, estimated to be around 160 GB, which is now being analysed in detail at a forensic laboratory. Investigators also reported that several storage devices, including three 32 GB pen drives and one 64 GB pen drive, were recovered from the suspect’s possession. Each device reportedly contained multiple folders of data that are now undergoing technical examination to determine their relevance to the case.

Apart from digital evidence, officials have also recovered additional items believed to be linked to the investigation, including printed records and personal documentation. These materials are being cross-verified with electronic data to establish possible connections and timelines. Sources within the investigation team stated that the primary focus is on identifying the authenticity of the files and determining whether any laws related to cybercrime or privacy violations have been breached. The forensic analysis is expected to take time due to the large volume of data involved.

Authorities have not yet disclosed detailed findings but confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing. Officials added that further action will be based on the results of the digital forensics report and supporting evidence collected during the search. Cybercrime experts note that such cases increasingly involve large-scale digital storage, making forensic analysis crucial in establishing legal accountability and verifying the origin of sensitive data.
