Maharashtra Weather Update: Rains Subside; Forecast for Mumbai, Thane & Konkan
Maharashtra experiences a reduction in rainfall. Get the latest weather forecast for Mumbai, Thane, and Konkan regions, including updates on Cyclone Shakti and monsoon withdrawal.
Mumbai | October 10, 2025 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports a significant decrease in rainfall across Maharashtra, signaling the gradual withdrawal of the southwest monsoon. While Mumbai and Thane are experiencing clearer skies, the Konkan region, including Raigad and Palghar, may continue to receive light to moderate showers in the coming days.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Palghar and Thane, indicating the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Cyclone Shakti, which had intensified in the Arabian Sea, is expected to weaken, reducing its impact on Maharashtra’s coastline. Nonetheless, the cyclone’s remnants may still influence weather patterns, leading to sporadic rainfall in certain areas.
In Mumbai, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear, with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 34°C. Thane is likely to experience similar conditions, with a slight chance of drizzle. The Konkan region, however, may witness occasional rain and thunderstorms, particularly during the late afternoon and evening hours.
As the monsoon season concludes, residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially in regions still susceptible to rainfall. The IMD continues to monitor the situation and will issue further advisories as needed.
