PMRDA orders all agencies to finish pothole repairs in Hinjewadi IT Park by December 5 after tech-hub complaints

Pune, 28 November 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has issued a firm directive requiring all concerned agencies to complete pothole repairs across Hinjewadi IT Park and nearby areas by 5 December 2025. The move comes after more than 5,500 IT professionals raised urgent concerns about deteriorating road conditions, commuting hazards, and repeated damage after monsoon.

During a multi-agency coordination meeting, PMRDA commissioner Yogesh Mhase was designated the central authority for overseeing all infrastructure issues in the Hinjewadi corridor. Officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), local police, and nearby gram panchayats attended the meeting to ensure coordinated action.

Authorities report that early monsoon repairs had failed to hold, resulting in recurring road damage. The December 5 deadline is intended to ensure roads are safe and functional before the upcoming winter season and end-of-year traffic surge. PMRDA said progress will be monitored daily and agencies must complete repairs without fail.

While a review by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is slated for early December, Mhase clarified that the pothole directive is independent of the CM review. With tighter oversight and inter-agency coordination, PMRDA aims to deliver smoother, safer commutes for IT workers and residents before year-end.
