PUNE, Maharashtra, 06 November 2025 – A routine internal meeting of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in Pune briefly turned tense when party chief Raj Thackeray questioned actor-turned-leader Ramesh Pardeshi for describing himself as a worker of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The meeting, held at Sankalp Hall, brought together branch heads and Pune-city functionaries to streamline organisational work ahead of local-body elections. During this interaction, Raj Thackeray paused the agenda to address a social media post recently shared by Pardeshi, where he appeared at an RSS event. The party chief asked him why he was identifying himself with another organisation while holding a responsibility within MNS. People present in the hall said the comment was direct and intended as a reminder that party workers are expected to maintain clarity about their political identity, especially when the organisation is tightening discipline before elections.

Ramesh Pardeshi, known widely by his Mulshi Pattern screen name “Pittya Bhai”, later responded to the media as the incident gained traction online. He said Raj Thackeray did not shout or insult him, describing it instead as guidance expected within a family-like structure. Pardeshi explained that he has been associated with the RSS since childhood but made it clear that his political commitment lies with MNS. He said he conveyed the same to Raj Thackeray and that there was no conflict between them. According to Pardeshi, the online portrayal of the incident exaggerated the tone of the exchange, and he stressed that the party chief had simply corrected him in the way a senior corrects a junior.

The meeting itself focused on strengthening local machinery in Pune. Office-bearers were instructed to complete voter-list verification and booth-level work within set deadlines. Raj Thackeray advised the cadre to stay focused on ground issues instead of social-media optics, adding that upcoming civic elections will require consistent work and not just public statements. Party leaders later noted that the brief exchange with Pardeshi reflected the same message. They said MNS expects its representatives to stay aligned with one political identity and avoid mixed messaging, especially at a time when every statement is amplified online.

The episode has drawn attention because it involves a film personality who has gained visibility due to his role in Mulshi Pattern. Pardeshi’s presence in public events often attracts local interest, which is why his statements tend to circulate quickly. The party’s internal correction, his subsequent clarification and the quick reshaping of the narrative highlight how political communication is closely watched in the current election climate. Political observers believe MNS is trying to project a more organised and disciplined framework as it prepares for contests across Pune and other urban regions.

Pardeshi ended his interaction by expressing complete loyalty to Raj Thackeray, saying he considers him a guiding figure and will follow the responsibilities assigned to him. For now, the matter seems to have settled internally, leaving the party to focus on its electoral tasks while Pardeshi continues his work at the branch level. How this brief moment of friction shapes his role in the long run will depend on how he balances his personal identity with the party’s expectations as campaigning picks up pace in Pune.
