Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate a three-day North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, bringing together industry, army and innovators to promote indigenous defence technologies and strengthen national security capabilities

Prayagraj | 04 May 2026: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, marking a major step toward strengthening India’s indigenous defence ecosystem through innovation and collaboration.

The three-day event, themed ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge’, is being jointly organised by the Indian Army’s Northern Command and Central Command along with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers.

The symposium aims to provide a dynamic platform for showcasing cutting-edge homegrown technologies designed to address real-time operational challenges faced by the armed forces. A wide range of participants, including MSMEs, private defence technology firms, start-ups, and innovators from within the armed forces, are taking part in the exhibition.

A total of 284 companies have set up stalls to display advanced defence solutions, highlighting innovations in field deployment, maintenance systems, and modern warfare technologies. Officials say the initiative is expected to streamline procurement processes while promoting efficiency and self-reliance in defence production. The Indian Army has consistently emphasised the importance of adopting modern technologies to tackle evolving security threats. The symposium is designed to strengthen coordination between defence personnel, scientists, industry leaders, and academic institutions.

Scheduled to conclude on May 06, 2026, the event is expected to act as a crucial bridge connecting multiple stakeholders, with the larger goal of enhancing India’s technological capabilities and national security preparedness.
