Maval (Pune) | November 5, 2025 : In a swift recovery operation, the Talegaon–Dabhade police in Pune’s Maval taluka retrieved 24 tola of stolen gold jewellery within seven days of the theft, bringing relief to the Karande family.

According to official sources, the incident unfolded between 25 and 26 October when the Karande family had gone for a pilgrimage to Tuljapur. Seizing the opportunity, thieves allegedly struck their locked home in Khatgaon–Dabhade, performed a break‑in, and made off with the jewellery and cash.

Upon returning, the family discovered the theft and immediately reported the matter to the Talegaon police station. A prompt first information report (FIR) was filed and a forensic examination of fingerprints and CCTV footage around Talegaon, Vadgaon, and Maval began.

Over the next few days, investigators tracked suspicious activity through CCTV footage and narrowed their focus to two individuals. After continual surveillance, police arrested Sahil Nisar Shekh and Saddam Gulab Bagwan from the Kharadi area in Pune.

The suspects admitted to the burglary during questioning and led police to where the stolen gold valued at approximately ₹8 lakh was hidden. The jewellery has since been retrieved and returned to the owners.

Pune Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chobe commended the investigation team led by Senior Inspector Kanhaiya Thorat, describing the response as “efficient and timely.”

The quick recovery and arrests have restored faith in local policing in the area and offered the Karande family much‑needed relief.
