Uddhav Thackeray slammed the Mahayuti government for failing to compensate rain-hit farmers in Marathwada, calling it corrupt, dishonest, and disconnected from ground realities.

Osmanabad | November 5, 2025 – Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray launched a strong attack on the Maharashtra government during his visit to the Marathwada region, accusing the ruling Mahayuti alliance of corruption, neglect, and betrayal of farmers. Speaking at a rally in Bhum taluka of Dharashiv district, Thackeray said the current government has failed to provide adequate relief to rain-affected farmers and is only interested in publicity instead of real governance.

He claimed that the state administration, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has completely ignored the plight of farmers whose crops were destroyed due to unseasonal rains. Thackeray questioned why thousands of farmers have received as little as ₹2 or ₹6 as insurance compensation after paying high premiums, calling it an “insult to the people who feed the state.”

Thackeray accused the Mahayuti leadership of making false promises about loan waivers and financial aid. He warned that if immediate compensation of ₹50,000 per hectare is not provided, the opposition will intensify its protests across Maharashtra. “Farmers don’t need sympathy or slogans — they need justice. This government is busy lying and looting while people suffer,” he said.

He also alleged that ministers in the ruling alliance were using government machinery to create fake crowds at political events. “They bring people from Mumbai, dress them up as locals, and try to show public support. It’s nothing but deceit,” Thackeray claimed.

While addressing the gathering, he said that the Shiv Sena (UBT) is not merely campaigning but fighting for the dignity and survival of farmers. He accused the government of turning disaster relief into a “public relations exercise” and said that Maharashtra’s rural regions are being systematically neglected.

The remarks come amid rising anger in Marathwada over delayed compensation and growing frustration with the insurance settlement process. The opposition is expected to leverage this issue in the run-up to upcoming municipal and district elections.

Thackeray ended his speech by urging farmers to unite and hold the government accountable. “The time has come to raise your voice. If they continue to ignore you, they will lose power — not because of politics, but because of the truth,” he said.
