Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra | October 11, 2025 — In a significant political demonstration, Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), led a Hambarda Morcha in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, demanding substantial financial aid for farmers affected by recent agricultural crises. Thackeray criticized the Eknath Shinde-led government for inadequate support and called for immediate action to address the farmers’ plight.

During the rally, Thackeray reiterated his previous demand for a ₹50,000 per hectare aid to compensate for the losses incurred by farmers. He emphasized that this was not a personal wish but a legitimate demand from the farming community. Thackeray also challenged the government’s commitment to the announced aid package, urging that the funds be disbursed directly to farmers’ accounts before the upcoming Diwali festival.

Addressing the leadership of the ruling alliance, Thackeray questioned the legitimacy of appointing two deputy chief ministers without a clear constitutional basis, highlighting the perceived imbalance in governance. He also criticized the portrayal of farmers in government advertisements, noting that images of individuals carrying carpets were used instead of depicting actual farmers.

Thackeray announced plans to visit every district in Maharashtra after Diwali to meet with farmers, assess the distribution of aid, and ensure accountability. He also expressed concerns about the adequacy of the announced relief package, suggesting that the amount was insufficient to cover the losses faced by farmers.

The rally underscored the ongoing tension between the opposition and the ruling government over agricultural policies and the welfare of farmers in Maharashtra. Thackeray’s statements have intensified the political discourse, with both parties preparing for the upcoming electoral challenges.
