Pune|October 18,2025: Passengers on a Dubai–Pune IndiGo flight faced an unexpected delay on Wednesday night after landing on time but being unable to disembark for more than an hour. The aircraft, which touched down around 10 p.m., remained stationary on the runway as there was no available parking bay at Pune airport.

Several passengers, including senior citizens and children, were left confined inside the aircraft without proper communication from the crew about when they would be allowed to exit. The prolonged wait caused visible frustration among travellers, who questioned the airport’s preparedness to handle incoming flights during peak hours.

Pune airport officials cited heavy air traffic and limited apron space as contributing factors behind the incident.

Aviation experts have once again emphasized the urgent need for infrastructural expansion at Pune airport. They noted that the facility’s limited parking and congested operations often lead to flight delays and passenger discomfort.

Experts have also urged better coordination between airlines and airport management to prevent such incidents in the future. With passenger traffic steadily increasing, stakeholders say upgrading Pune’s aviation infrastructure is essential to meet the city’s growing travel demand.
