Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Farhan has sparked controversy again by repeating his AK-47 celebration during a promotional shoot, weeks after the ICC issued him a warning for a similar gesture.

Dubai, UAE |October 10, 2025:Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Farhan has reignited controversy by repeating his AK-47 celebration during a recent promotional shoot, just weeks after the International Cricket Council (ICC) issued him a warning for a similar gesture during a high-profile Asia Cup match against India.

The ICC had reprimanded Farhan for his gunshot celebration during the Super Four match on September 21, 2025. Despite the warning, Farhan’s recent actions have reignited public and media backlash, raising concerns over appropriate player conduct and the influence of such gestures in the sporting world.

In the promotional shoot, Farhan posed with a bat sticker named “Gunmode,” inspired by his infamous AK-47 celebration. The sticker’s unveiling has drawn criticism and attention, further fueling discussions around flamboyant celebrations in cricket and their appropriateness on the international stage.

Farhan has defended his actions, stating that the celebration was a spur-of-the-moment decision and not pre-planned. He emphasized the importance of playing aggressive cricket, regardless of the opponent.
