Xiaomi unveils new-gen SU7 EV with 902km range, 3.08 sec acceleration, AI features, and ultra-fast charging, rivaling Tesla.

Pune | 24 March, 2026: In a major leap into the global electric vehicle race, Xiaomi has unveiled the next-generation Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan, boasting a massive 902km driving range, cutting-edge AI integration, and ultra-fast charging capabilities. The new model marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor and positions Xiaomi as a serious competitor to global EV leaders like Tesla.

The highlight of the new SU7 is its industry-leading range, enabled by advanced battery technology and improved energy efficiency. The Pro variant of the sedan can deliver up to 902 km on a single charge (CLTC cycle), making it one of the longest-range electric cars currently available. This breakthrough is powered by a new-generation battery system integrated into the vehicle structure using Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, enhancing both performance and safety.

Performance is another area where the SU7 stands out. The top-end variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just around 3.08 seconds, putting it in the league of high-performance EVs. Additionally, the car offers a top speed of up to 265 km/h, underlining Xiaomi’s focus on blending efficiency with performance.

One of the most talked-about features is its ultra-fast charging capability, which allows the vehicle to gain up to 670 km of range in just 15 minutes, significantly reducing charging downtime. This advancement addresses one of the biggest concerns among EV buyers—charging convenience—and could accelerate adoption in markets worldwide.

Inside the cabin, Xiaomi has introduced a futuristic, tech-driven experience. The SU7 is powered by the company’s HyperOS ecosystem, enabling seamless integration between the car, smartphones, and smart home devices. The vehicle features multiple digital displays, an AI voice assistant, and smart connectivity options that allow users to control various functions remotely. The addition of advanced chips and intelligent systems further enhances in-car automation and driver assistance capabilities.

The new-generation SU7 also debuts Xiaomi’s Smart Chassis 2.0, which uses AI to adapt to driving conditions in real time, improving ride quality, stability, and safety. Features like adaptive suspension, wet-road detection, and enhanced braking systems aim to provide a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

From a market perspective, Xiaomi is strategically pricing the SU7 to compete aggressively. Reports suggest that the base model starts at around 219,900 yuan (approximately $31,000), making it cheaper than comparable models like the Tesla Model 3 while offering superior range. This pricing strategy could disrupt the EV market, especially in China, where competition is already intense.

The launch comes at a time when Xiaomi is rapidly expanding its presence in the automotive sector. Since entering the EV market, the company has delivered hundreds of thousands of units and is now focusing on scaling production and expanding globally. Industry experts believe that models like the SU7 could play a crucial role in Xiaomi’s ambition to become a top-tier EV manufacturer.

In conclusion, the new-generation Xiaomi SU7 is more than just an electric car—it represents a fusion of advanced battery technology, AI-driven features, and aggressive pricing. With its 902km range, lightning-fast charging, and smart ecosystem integration, the SU7 sets a new benchmark in the EV segment and signals Xiaomi’s serious intent to challenge established players in the global automotive industry.
