Patna, October 20, 2025- The NDA-led Bihar government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has introduced the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, replacing the previously proposed Ladki Bahin Yojana. The new initiative aims to provide financial support to 7.5 million women across Bihar, with each woman receiving ₹10,000 to start self-employment ventures or small businesses. The government has stated that this move is intended to support women’s economic empowerment while managing the state’s financial resources efficiently.

The Ladki Bahin Yojana, which has been successful in states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, was considered politically advantageous for ruling parties during elections.
