Dastkari Haat Samiti Returns to Pune with 11th Annual Craft Bazaar at Kalagram, Showcasing Over 120 Indian Artisans and Traditional Crafts

Dastkari Haat Samiti celebrates 11 years in Pune with the Craft Bazaar at Kalagram, featuring 120+ artisan stalls, live workshops, folk performances, and traditional Indian crafts from across the country.
Pune| October 24, 2025:Dastkari Haat Samiti, the renowned platform for Indian artisans founded by cultural stalwart Jaya Jaitly, returns to Pune with its 11th annual Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar, now hosted at the newly developed cultural space, Kalagram. Situated within P.L. Deshpande Garden next to Pune-Okayama Friendship Garden on Sinhagad Road, Kalagram has been created by Pune Municipal Corporation under the Smart City Program to promote arts, crafts, and cultural engagement.

Scheduled from October 30 to November 9, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., the bazaar will feature more than 120 stalls showcasing traditional crafts, textiles, and artworks from across India. Visitors can expect to witness the rich creativity of artisans, including Chennapatna toys by Minu Joshi, Kantha embroidery on jute and cotton by Jhumkee Iyengar, Kosa silk textiles by Pravin Badwe, Banjara embroidery by Rohit Shankar Rathod, and handmade Kolhapuri leather chappals by Santosh Vijay More. Quilts, wood carvings, Pichwai paintings, Pattu weaving, Chamba embroidery, and other regional handicrafts from Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh will also be on display.

The inaugural ceremony, set for October 30 at 5:00 P.M., will be graced by dignitaries including Smt. Madhuri Satish Misal, Maharashtra Minister of State for Urban Development; Ms. Tirtha Misal, Architect; Mr. Naval Kishore Ram, Pune Municipal Commissioner; and Shri Omprakash Divate, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special). Ms. Charu Verma, Project Head of Dastkari Haat Samiti, will also be present.

In addition to exploring the stalls, visitors will experience live skill demonstrations and workshops. Highlights include Gond painting by Sukhiram Maravi from Madhya Pradesh, Madhubani painting by Rahul from Bihar, block printing by Haji Alauddin from Uttar Pradesh, stone dust painting by Dinesh from Delhi, Kalighat painting by Laltu Chitrakar from West Bengal, palm leaf painting by Apindra Swain from Odisha, and weaving workshops by Dr. Hemlata Jain from Karnataka. Folk performances, including Chhau dancers from West Bengal and Manganjyar singers from Rajasthan, will enhance the cultural experience.
Food enthusiasts can enjoy traditional cuisines from Rajasthan and Delhi offered throughout the event. The Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar at Kalagram not only showcases Indian craftsmanship but also encourages cultural exchange, enabling artisans and visitors to engage directly.
