PCMC has announced a water cut in several areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad on October 30 due to pipeline shifting near Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi. Residents are advised to store water in advance.

Pimpri-Chinchwad, October 28, 2025 – The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced that water supply will be disrupted in several areas on October 30 due to essential work on the main water pipeline near Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi. The civic body said the shutdown is necessary for the relocation of a major water line connected to the ongoing metro project.

The work will affect the main water supply from the Sector 23 Water Treatment Plant to Nehrunagar. As a result, areas including Nehrunagar, Sant Tukaramnagar, Maheshnagar, Ganganagar, Vallabhnagar, Kasarwadi, Phugewadi, and parts of Chikhali such as Hargude Vasti, Pawar Vasti, Kudalwadi, and Jadhavwadi will experience a complete water cut on Thursday.

PCMC officials have urged residents in these areas to store adequate water in advance and use it carefully during the period of disruption. The supply is expected to resume on October 31, but officials have cautioned that water pressure may remain low or irregular for some time after restoration.

The civic body has assured that all necessary steps are being taken to complete the pipeline work within the scheduled timeframe to minimize inconvenience to citizens. The pipeline relocation is part of a larger infrastructure upgrade linked to metro construction and is aimed at improving the city’s long-term water management system.

Residents are advised to plan ahead, fill storage tanks, and avoid using water for non-essential purposes during the maintenance period.
