In Pune’s Wagholi area a 19-year-old man, previously exiled, was found carrying a weapon and arrested by Crime Branch Unit 6. The case is under investigation.

PUNE, Maharashtra, 06 November 2025 – A 19-year-old youth who had been officially banned from entering Pune district was arrested in Wagholi after Crime Branch Unit 6 found him carrying a sharp weapon. The accused, Aditya Deepak Kamble, a resident of Sidhivinayak Park on Owalwadi Road, had been issued a tadipar order earlier this year along with three others. Police records show that the group had been involved in threatening residents, waving a cleaver in public and damaging property, which led to their ban in March 2025.

On 4 November, the crime branch received information that Kamble had returned to Wagholi and was standing near the playground beside Rai Soni College with a weapon. A patrolling team rushed to the location and spotted him trying to conceal the sharp object. He was detained on the spot and the weapon was seized. The case has been handed over to Wagholi Police Station for further investigation.

The action took place under the supervision of senior officials. Deputy Commissioner of Police Nikhil Pingale and Assistant Commissioner Rajendra Mulik monitored the operation, while Inspector Wahid Pathan coordinated the movements of the Unit 6 team. Officers said they acted immediately because the accused had a history of intimidating people in the area and had violated the conditions of the exclusion order.

The arrest highlights the ongoing challenge faced by police when individuals under entry bans attempt to return quietly and resume unlawful behaviour. Authorities often rely on local intelligence to track movements, especially when weapons are involved. Residents in Wagholi had previously raised concerns about rising street violence, and the police believe the prompt arrest may ease some of those fears.

Investigators will now determine how Kamble managed to enter the area despite the ban and whether he had reconnected with any members of the group expelled earlier. Police officials said more vigilance will be enforced in the coming days and warned that violating a tadipar order will attract strict action. The case also reinforces the city’s stance that carrying weapons in public spaces will be dealt with immediately, regardless of age or background.
