PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD,12 November 2025 – A shocking murder in Charholi’s Alankapuram 90-Foot Road area has left local residents stunned after a 37-year-old property dealer was gunned down by his two friends inside his own vehicle. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Shankar Gilbile from Wadmukhwadi. According to police, Gilbile and the two accused—identified as Amit Jeevan Pathare (35, Charholi) and Vikrant Thakur (from Solu, Khed taluka)—had gone together in a black Toyota Fortuner (MH 14 LL 8900) on Wednesday evening.

While the three were in the vehicle near a hotel along Alankapuram Road, a personal dispute erupted. In the ensuing confrontation, Pathare and Thakur allegedly shot Gilbile in the head. The accused fled the scene immediately after the shooting, while Gilbile’s body was found inside the car near a shed beside Shri Sai Road Carrier. Dighi Police and Crime Branch teams arrived at the spot upon receiving the call. Forensic units collected evidence and launched a search for the accused.

The motive is still under investigation but the police say it appears to be rooted in a personal conflict rather than a land deal or business rivalry. Gilbile, involved in land purchase-sale and running a hotel, was reportedly sitting with his two friends when the incident happened. Detectives are examining whether prior discussions about business or property had triggered the violence. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a murder FIR has been filed at Dighi Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Arms Act. The police superintendent stated that the community in the Charholi-Dighi belt is shaken by the brazen nature of the crime, especially since it took place in broad daylight and involved close associates. Search parties including the dog squad and local patrol units have been deployed to track both suspects who remain at large.

The incident highlights the rising concerns over pistol violence and disputes among acquaintances in the region. As Dighi Police continue their investigation, community members have urged authorities for heightened vigilance, quick arrests and public reassurance. Further developments will follow as police forensic reports and CCTV footage from the area are analysed.
