Bhopal / Ujjain | November 22, 2025: Madhya Pradesh has officially launched the “PM Shri Heli Tourism Service,” which connects major spiritual and eco-tourism destinations via helicopter, bringing a fresh dimension to the state’s travel experience.

One of the flagship routes under this initiative links Ujjain to Omkareshwar, two highly revered Jyotirlinga sites. The new service allows passengers to make this journey in just 40 minutes, a significant time-saving compared to ground travel.

The helicopter service runs five days a week  Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday  with no flights on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On the spiritual circuit, the typical schedule begins with an 8:00 AM flight from Indore to Ujjain, followed by Ujjain to Omkareshwar, and then return legs later in the morning.

As for pricing, the one-way fare is approximately:

  • ₹5,000 for Indore → Ujjain
  • ₹6,500 for Ujjain → Omkareshwar
  • The return flight from Omkareshwar to Indore is around ₹5,500.
  • However, there’s a weight-based surcharge: passengers weighing over 80 kg must pay an additional ₹150 per extra kilogram, and those over 100 kg will need to book two seats.

To book, tourists can use platforms like Flyola, IRCTC Flyola, or TransBharat.

Officials say this aerial route not only enhances spiritual tourism by linking key jyotirlingas but also integrates eco and wildlife circuits potentially increasing tourist footfall and improving connectivity across important destinations in Madhya Pradesh.
