Young Innovator Arjit More’s Book ‘Jigyasa’ Connects Scientific Curiosity With Society At NCL Pune Event

At NCL Pune, student innovator Arjit More released his book ‘Jigyasa,’ inspired by the Prime Minister’s initiative, highlighting scientific curiosity, hands-on research, and accessible science communication for young learners nationwide.

Pune | 28 November 2025: A special ceremony at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune celebrated the release of ‘Jigyasa: From Curiosity to Clarity’, written by young researcher and school student Arjit Amol More. The book was unveiled by NCL Director Dr. Ashish Lele and Mahavitaran’s Director (Human Resources) Shri Rajendra Pawar in the presence of senior scientists and officials.

Dr. Lele praised Arjit’s effort, saying India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 requires widespread public engagement in science and technology. He added that Arjit’s book meaningfully connects scientific thinking with communication and will inspire school students across the country.

The event was attended by NCL scientists including Dr. Wafia Masih, Dr. Narendra Kadu, Dr. M. Kartikeyan, Dr. Mahesh Dharane, Dr. Rakesh Joshi, Dr. Rajesh Gonnade and Dr. Shubhangi Umberkar. Representatives from Mahavitaran, including Shri Amol More, Dr. Santosh Patni and Shri Nishikant Raut, were also present. Arjit’s work has received appreciation from Mahavitaran CMD Shri Lokesh Chandra, former Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. P. Gore and Principal Pranati Mitra of Swami Vivekanand High School.

Arjit’s book is rooted in the Prime Minister’s initiative ‘Jigyasa – One Day as a Scientist’, which gives students hands-on exposure to research laboratories. As part of the program, Arjit spent a full day at CSIR–NCL Pune, an experience that shaped the foundation of his book. Written in simple language, it introduces young readers to topics like DNA sequencing, sustainable chemistry, artificial intelligence and environmental science.

Arjit, a winner of the District INSPIRE Award 2025 and the Homi Bhabha Young Scientist Gold Medal 2024, already has three international research papers and several innovations to his credit, including the Illumbrella, Spinogear and Gutterguard. The Marathi edition of ‘Jigyasa’ will be released soon.
