Students Escape Unhurt After Blaze Breaks Out at Coaching Centre in Pimple Saudagar
A fire broke out at a coaching centre in Pimple Saudagar with over 40 people inside. Thanks to timely evacuation by firefighters and staff, all students and nearby residents escaped safely.
Pune | December 3, 2025: A tense situation unfolded in Pimple Saudagar when a fire broke out at a coaching centre on Kunal Icon Road on Monday afternoon. The blaze started inside a classroom where more than 40 students and staff were present. Thick smoke spread quickly, creating panic among those inside as well as residents in the building above.
Fire officials said the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Initial suspicion points to an electrical fault in a printer, but the exact cause is still being examined. As smoke increased, the coaching centre staff immediately alerted authorities, and fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Teams reached the location despite slow movement in the area due to nearby road construction. Firefighters acted quickly to evacuate all students and employees. Five people who were trapped on the restaurant floor above were also brought down safely.
The fire was contained before it could reach neighbouring commercial units or residential sections of the building. Local traffic was briefly disrupted during the operation, but normal movement resumed soon after the fire was extinguished.
There were no injuries or casualties reported. Parents and residents expressed relief but also highlighted the need for stronger fire-safety checks in rapidly growing areas like Pimple Saudagar, where commercial and educational setups operate in close proximity.
Authorities are now reviewing safety measures in the building and assessing whether additional precautions are required to avoid similar incidents in the future.
