Pune Ganesh Visarjan 2026: 26 Parking Locations Announced for September 25

Pune Traffic Police have identified 26 parking locations for devotees attending the Ganesh Visarjan procession on September 25.

Pune, September 24, 2026: With Pune preparing for the main Ganesh Visarjan procession on September 25, the traffic authorities have identified 26 designated parking locations across the city to manage the expected surge in vehicles and devotees.

The main immersion procession is scheduled to begin at around 9 am, with large crowds expected to gather across central Pune. Citizens have been advised to use only designated parking areas and avoid leaving vehicles along procession routes or adjoining roads.

26 Parking Locations Identified

The designated parking facilities include locations around major educational institutions, public grounds and roads in central Pune.

Parking for two-wheelers and four-wheelers includes:

• Shivaji Akhada parking area
• Hamalwada near Patraya Maruti Chowk
• Ground near RTO Chowk
• S.P. College
• Nilayam Talkies
• BMCC College ground
• Abasaheb Garware College
• Sanjeevani Medical College ground
• Fergusson College
• Jain Hostel ground on BMCC Road
• Ranade Path
• New English School, Tilak Road
• Riverbed stretch between Bhide Bridge and Gadgil Bridge

Additional two-wheeler parking locations include:

• New English School, Ramanbaug
• Gogate Prashala
• Peshwe Park, Sarasbaug
• Area opposite Harjeevan Hospital at Savarkar Chowk
• Patil Plaza
• Parvati–Dandekar Bridge stretch
• Dandekar Bridge–Ganeshmala stretch
• Ganeshmala–Rajaram Bridge stretch
• Marathwada College
• Peshwe Path
• Congress House Road

The PMPML ground near Puram Chowk has been designated for four-wheelers, while Desai College has been earmarked for police parking rather than public parking.

Traffic Police Appeal to Citizens

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr Sandeep Bhajibhakare has appealed to citizens to use the designated parking facilities and avoid haphazard parking elsewhere.

Authorities have also encouraged visitors to use public transport wherever possible to reduce pressure on roads during the immersion procession.

The parking plan is part of a larger traffic-management operation for Anant Chaturdashi. Several roads will face closures and diversions from the morning of September 25, while restrictions will be imposed dynamically depending on the movement of immersion processions.

With thousands of devotees expected to travel towards central Pune, motorists should check road restrictions before starting their journey.

Traffic police have advised citizens to avoid unauthorised parking and follow directions from traffic personnel. Using designated parking spaces and public transport can help keep emergency routes and procession corridors clear.

The arrangements will remain in force as required during the movement of the Ganesh immersion processions on September 25.
