PCMC Fire Team’s Quick Rescue Averted Possible Tragedy In Vallabhnagar

When a youth attempted to jump from a building in Vallabhnagar, PCMC’s fire department arrived swiftly, engaged him calmly and brought him down safely — preventing a potential tragedy.
Pune | December 3, 2025: On Tuesday evening around 5:45 pm, a young man was found on the edge of a second-floor building near Killedar Garden in Vallabhnagar, apparently ready to jump. Alert citizens immediately informed the local fire control room, prompting an urgent dispatch from the city’s fire department.
Firefighters from the Pimpri station responded within minutes. On reaching the spot, they calmly engaged with the distressed individual, distracting and comforting him while preparing a rescue plan. At the right moment, one of the firefighters moved in and carefully managed to restrain him, safely bringing him down to ground level.
The operation was led by Senior Fireman Bhushan Yewle and included Firemen Deepak Kothe, Tejas Pawar, Jay Jamadar, Sneha Jagtap and driver Vishal Banekar. Their composed and coordinated response prevented what could have turned into a major tragedy. Senior officials from the department later praised the team’s professionalism and quick action, emphasizing the importance of prompt public alerting in crisis situations.
Authorities have also appealed to citizens — advising everyone to dial 101 immediately if they spot similar distress situations — so trained responders can reach in time. This rescue underscores how swift, calm interventions by emergency services can make the difference between life and death.
