Khandesh Sneha Melava 2026 in Kharghar showcased unity, culture, networking, and recognition of achievers from the Khandeshi community.
KHARGHAR | April 12, 2026: The cultural spirit of Khandesh took center stage at the Leva Patidar AC Hall in Sector 5, as the Khandesh Sneha Melava 2026 concluded with grand success. The mega-event served as a powerful platform for the Khandeshi community residing in the Navi Mumbai region to foster professional networking, celebrate their traditional roots, and strengthen social bonds. The gathering saw an overwhelming response, drawing families, professionals, and community leaders together in a vibrant display of unity.

The ceremony was officially inaugurated by the State Minister for Water Resources and Disaster Management, Girish Mahajan, who praised the community’s significant contributions to the state’s development. Presiding over the event, MLA Prashant Thakur emphasized the importance of maintaining cultural identity in urban landscapes. The guest list featured a distinguished lineup of intellectuals and leaders, including Dr. Sunil Bhirud (VC, COEP), former IAS officer Shri Shamsundar Patil, and Dr. Bhagwan Jogi (Registrar, ICT), alongside prominent figures from the industrial and real estate sectors.
A core highlight of the program was the recognition of academic and professional excellence. In a gesture of appreciation, Minister Girish Mahajan felicitated 45 prominent doctors for their dedicated service to healthcare. Furthermore, the community turned its spotlight on the younger generation, honoring six standout students who achieved success in prestigious examinations such as MPSC, UPSC, and IIT-JEE, as well as those excelling in sports, providing them with trophies and shawls to encourage their future endeavors.

The event also offered a sensory journey through the traditions of Khandesh, featuring a bustling marketplace of stalls selling authentic sarees, local products, and jewelry. The undisputed star of the day, however, was the traditional cuisine. A specialized 15-member culinary team from Bhalod was invited to serve an authentic feast on banana leaves. Guests enjoyed a menu of Varan-Batti, mashed eggplant (vangi bhaji), and gulacha sheera, accompanied by spiced buttermilk, recreating the genuine taste of Sonana Khandesh in the heart of Kharghar.
The success of the Melava was a testament to the meticulous planning of the organizing committee, led by Vikas Bhangale, Adv. Amol Chaudhary, and a dedicated team of Star Members. As the event concluded, a collective resolve was expressed to move beyond celebrations and focus on long-term social, educational, and healthcare initiatives. For the attendees, this gathering was more than just a meeting; it was the start of a new chapter in community empowerment and a commitment to mutual growth.
