In a significant move aimed at strengthening workplace safety and ensuring stricter compliance with gender protection laws, the Nashik district administration has convened a major meeting with representatives from the city’s information technology sector. The meeting will be held on Saturday under the chairmanship of District Collector Ayush Prasad at the District Planning Committee office.

The primary focus of the discussion will be the effective implementation of the POSH Act, along with broader issues related to women’s safety in corporate environments. Officials stated that the initiative aims to ensure that workplaces across Nashik’s growing IT ecosystem maintain strict adherence to legal and ethical standards.

The meeting is expected to witness participation from more than 1,200 representatives from IT companies operating in the region. Industry stakeholders, HR professionals, and compliance officers will be part of the discussions, making it one of the largest coordinated engagements between the district administration and the corporate sector in recent times.

Authorities said that the agenda includes reviewing existing internal complaints committees (ICCs), strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms, and ensuring that all companies are fully compliant with statutory requirements under the POSH Act.
