Pune | May 2, 2026: Pune hosted the prestigious launch of The Confluence Dialogues on May 2, 2026, during an invite-only closed-table dinner attended by an assembly of national and international delegates. The event, established as a high-protocol platform for substantive leadership conversations, aimed to chart the course for India’s next decade of conscious and sustainable development.

The evening was headlined by Her Excellency Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, the former President of the Republic of Mauritius, who delivered a keynote address titled ‘From Soil to Statecraft.’ In her speech, Dr. Gurib-Fakim highlighted the urgent need for conscious leadership as the world balances economic acceleration with climate responsibility and social inclusion. She placed a particular emphasis on the vital role of women in leadership within the new Indian development paradigm.

The inaugural event featured a distinguished panel including prominent industrialist Mr. Yohan Poonawalla of the Poonawalla Group, alongside Dr. Gurib-Fakim and platform founder Mr. Iftekhar Pathan. Mr. Poonawalla spoke on the necessity of philanthropy for contemporary leaders, reflecting on his family’s tradition of passing these values to the next generation.

Mr. Pathan, the Chief Convenor, articulated that the platform’s vision is to position Pune and Maharashtra as a strategic thinking hub for the country. He identified four guiding intents for the dialogues: exploring growth models beyond GDP, triggering collaborations between policy and enterprise, establishing Pune as a center for strategic conversation, and translating strategies into sustainable actions. The event concluded with remarks from technology entrepreneur Mr. Vishal Naik, who praised the significant presence of women leaders at the gathering.
