Ferrari Unveils First Electric Supercar ‘Luce’, Marking Historic Shift Into EV Era

Ferrari has officially entered the electric vehicle segment with the launch of the Luce, a high-performance luxury EV blending futuristic design, advanced technology, and the brand’s iconic racing DNA.

Italian luxury automaker Ferrari has unveiled its first-ever fully electric vehicle, the Ferrari Luce, signalling a historic transition for one of the world’s most iconic performance car brands. The much-anticipated electric grand tourer was officially revealed during a global launch event in Italy, drawing massive attention from automobile enthusiasts and technology experts worldwide.

The Ferrari Luce represents the company’s bold move into the electric mobility era while aiming to preserve the emotional driving experience traditionally associated with Ferrari’s combustion-engine supercars. The four-door luxury EV has been co-designed with LoveFrom, the creative firm founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive, giving the vehicle a futuristic appearance and a premium minimalist interior.

According to Ferrari, the Luce produces more than 1,000 horsepower through a quad-motor electric setup and can deliver a driving range exceeding 500 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle is also equipped with advanced torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, and a specially engineered sound system designed to recreate the emotional feel of a Ferrari engine despite being fully electric.

Ferrari stated that the Luce has been developed entirely in-house, including its drivetrain architecture and battery technology. Deliveries are expected to begin later in 2026, with reports suggesting a starting price of nearly €550,000, making it one of the most premium electric vehicles ever launched.

Industry experts view the launch as a defining moment for Ferrari as global luxury automakers continue balancing performance traditions with environmental sustainability and growing demand for electric mobility. While reactions to the car’s unconventional styling have been mixed online, the Luce is already being considered one of the most significant automotive launches of the decade.
