Pune, October 30, 2026: Hikal Limited has announced that its Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has received a Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Compliance from Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products. The certification marks an important development in the company’s efforts to strengthen its global pharmaceutical business and expand its presence in regulated international markets.

Announced on October 30, 2026, the certification confirms that Hikal’s Bengaluru facility meets the Good Manufacturing Practice requirements under the Mutual Recognition Agreement between the European Union and Switzerland.

The latest recognition adds to the facility’s existing regulatory credentials following successful inspections by Brazil’s ANVISA and Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). These recognitions further strengthen the facility’s regulatory standing and support the company’s ability to serve a broader customer base across international markets.

According to Hikal, the Swissmedic certification is expected to create additional opportunities with pharmaceutical customers in Europe and other regulated markets. It also supports the company’s strategy of diversifying the geographical footprint of its pharmaceutical business while building resilience against geopolitical and international trade uncertainties.

Commenting on the development, Sameer Hiremath, Chairman and Managing Director of Hikal Limited, said that the certification reflects the quality systems established at the Bengaluru facility. He highlighted that the recognition represents an important step towards expanding the company’s global pharmaceutical business and developing new customer opportunities.

Hiremath also reiterated that quality, regulatory compliance and manufacturing excellence remain central to Hikal’s long-term customer partnerships.
