Crime Branch Seizes Massive MD Drugs Cache in Dhanori, Two Rajasthan Natives Apprehended

The Pune Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 arrested two residents of Rajasthan in the Dhanori area and seized Mephedrone and Doda Chura drugs worth over ₹21 lakh.

May 18, 2026 | Pune: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics distribution networks in the city, the Anti-Narcotics Cell-2 of the Pune Crime Branch apprehended two individuals from Rajasthan for hoarding and attempting to sell contraband in the Dhanori area. Law enforcement authorities recovered illicit substances, including Mephedrone (MD) and Doda Chura, with an estimated cumulative street value of ₹21,13,748 during the high-stakes tactical operation.

The arrested suspects have been officially identified by the police as Karansingh Premsingh Rajpurohit, aged 41, and Rajusingh Sahadevsingh Rajpurohit, aged 42, both permanent residents of Rajasthan currently operating within the state. Acting on precise intelligence inputs gathered by the specialized narcotics squad, the raid was executed on May 15 at the Chakradhar Niwas premises located in Lane Number 1, Siddharthnagar area of Dhanori. During the search, officers successfully intercepted the duo before they could distribute the contraband into local peddling channels.

Forensic logs confirm that the search team recovered exactly 102.91 grams of high-quality Mephedrone (MD) and 102.38 grams of Doda Chura powder from the possession of the accused. Additionally, two mobile devices used for coordinating transactions, a precise electronic weighing scale, and a significant amount of hard cash were confiscated. A formal criminal case has been registered at the Vishrantwadi Police Station under the stringent provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Under the direct guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Shankar Khatke and Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad, Sub-Inspector Mahesh Bhosale has taken charge of the ongoing investigation to trace the wider interstate supply chain.
