Minister Chandrakant Patil directed BJP leaders to consolidate structural support for the upcoming Kolhapur District Cooperative Milk Producers Union elections to ensure a ruling coalition victory

June 1, 2026 | Kolhapur: Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil instructed the Bharatiya Janata Party cadre to aggressively collect at least 2,000 official resolutions from local primary milk cooperative societies. Addressing a strategic review meeting of key party leaders and organizational office-bearers in Shirol, the minister emphasized that the ruling Mahayuti alliance remains firmly committed to systemic reforms within the cooperative dairy federation to protect the core financial interests of regional milk farmers.

The organizational push follows the formal launch of the ‘Chhatrapati Shahu Shetkari Vikas Aghadi,’ a consolidated political front formed by the alliance partners at the Residency Club on Saturday to jointly contest the milk union board seats. Patil noted that administrative procedures to gather the dairy society resolutions will commence this Tuesday. He urged local party blocks to display visible structural strength, ensuring that the party maintains a dominant share of institutional voting power within the broader multi-party cooperative coalition.

Reinforcing the strategic significance of the upcoming cooperative polls, Member of Parliament Dhananjay Mahadik highlighted the alliance’s recent electoral successes across various local self-governing bodies in the district. Mahadik asserted that maintaining this political momentum is critical, urging block leaders to maximize grassroots outreach so that the highest number of cooperative resolutions are routed through the party’s central screening committee.

The high-level strategy session saw participation from several prominent regional leaders, including former legislators Prakash Awade and Suresh Halwankar, alongside Sanjay Ghatge, Member of the Legislative Assembly Rahul Awade, Samarjeetsinh Ghatge, and former dairy union director Shoumikatai Mahadik. Regional directors and taluka coordinators concluded the summit by designing localized operational frameworks to meticulously monitor the resolution filing process across all dairy-producing belts in the district.
