NEW DELHI | May 25, 2026 : A major political controversy has erupted following remarks by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who reportedly claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not remain in power after one year. Sources revealed that Gandhi made these statements during a meeting of the Congress Minority Advisory Committee on Saturday. The remarks have ignited a fierce war of words between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition, escalating political tensions across the country.

According to Congress party sources, Gandhi highlighted growing economic discontent within the nation and suggested that the shifting international economic situation would heavily impact Indian politics. Furthermore, Goyal accused Gandhi and his core team of being unable to tolerate India’s ongoing economic progress.
