Pune, 27th July 2026: Oxford College of Education (OCE), UK, has formally appointed journalist Rajendra Waghmare as its Media Consultant and Advisor for South Asia, in a move aimed at expanding the institution’s media presence and strategic communications across the region. The appointment, effective from July 22, 2026, is for an initial period of 12 months, with provisions for annual renewal subject to mutual agreement between both parties.

Waghmare, a journalist associated with The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia, will support the college in strengthening its media relations, enhancing public visibility, and shaping its strategic communications strategy across South Asian markets. In his advisory capacity, he is expected to guide the institution on media engagement, press outreach, and overall institutional positioning, working closely with the college’s leadership as mutually agreed from time to time.

The appointment letter, issued under reference OCE/MC-SA/2026/001, was formally communicated to Waghmare, outlining the scope of his role along with terms and conditions detailed in an accompanying annexure forming part of the agreement. The college described the association as one it hopes will be “productive and long-standing,” citing Waghmare’s standing and experience within the media fraternity as a valuable asset to its outreach efforts in the region.

With growing international interest among South Asian students in overseas education opportunities, institutions like Oxford College of Education have increasingly sought to build stronger regional media partnerships to enhance their visibility and engagement with prospective students, parents and stakeholders across the subcontinent.
