PCMC Launches Mayor’s Medical Financial Assistance Scheme to Support Needy Patients
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC)has introduced a new medical assistance scheme to provide financial support for economically weaker citizens requiring treatment for serious illnesses and surgeries.
March 16| Pimpri-Chinchwad:The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC has launched a new welfare initiative titled the “Mayor’s Medical Financial Assistance Scheme” aimed at helping economically disadvantaged residents access timely medical treatment. The scheme has been introduced through the municipal corporation’s public charitable trust to support citizens struggling to bear the rising cost of healthcare. Under the initiative, patients suffering from serious illnesses or those requiring costly medical procedures and surgeries will be eligible to receive financial assistance. The scheme has been introduced under the leadership of Mayor Ravi Landge with support from Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne.
Officials stated that financial aid will be provided directly to hospitals through cheques issued in the name of the respective medical institutions. This approach is intended to ensure transparency while reducing the financial burden on families seeking urgent medical care.n To avail the benefit, patients or their family members must submit an application at the Mayor’s Office of the municipal corporation. The application must include supporting documents such as the patient’s Aadhaar card, a copy of the ration card, an income certificate issued by the tehsildar’s office, a recommendation letter from the local corporator, and an estimated treatment cost document issued by the hospital with the doctor’s signature and seal.
Authorities clarified that the information provided in the application must be accurate, and the assistance will be approved only after verification of the submitted documents. Once the application is sanctioned, financial support will be released in the form of a cheque issued to the hospital handling the patient’s treatment. Mayor Ravi Landge stated that the scheme has been launched to ensure that no resident of the city is denied medical care due to financial constraints. The initiative is expected to provide crucial relief to several low-income families and strengthen the city’s public welfare framework.
