Power outage sparks violence as a doctor in Pune’s Khed taluka is brutally assaulted after questioning those allegedly responsible for cutting electricity supply to the hospital

Pune, 25 April | 2026:A shocking incident has emerged from Khed taluka in Pune district, where a doctor was brutally assaulted after he questioned a power disruption at the hospital where he works. The case has been registered at the Mahalunge Police Station.

According to police, the incident took place on April 23 around noon in Subhashwadi, Nighoje. The complainant, Sachin Chimaji Shinde (36), is a doctor at Shrilaxmi Multi Speciality Hospital. The accused identified as Ganesh Yelwande, Kailas Fafale, and Sandeep Halwale allegedly damaged distribution point near the hospital by hitting wires with a tanker, which led to a complete power failure.

When Dr. Shinde approached them to question the disruption, the accused reportedly became aggressive, abused him, and then attacked him using sticks, a broom, and stones. He sustained injuries in the assault and required medical attention.

The incident created panic in the area, raising concerns about the safety of healthcare professionals. Police have initiated further investigation into the case and are working to take strict action against those involved.
