Pune: Gangadham Chowk Rapper Murder Cracked in Six Hours, Main Accused Arrested by Pune Police

April 22, 2026 | Pune: In a major breakthrough, the Market Yard Police in Pune have cracked the shocking murder of a local rapper at Gangadham Chowk, arresting the prime accused within hours of the crime. The swift operation has highlighted the efficiency and responsiveness of the city’s police force.

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 20, when Rohan Kantilal Owhal, a rapper and social media personality, was brutally attacked around 4:45 AM. According to police, the assailants used a paver block to strike his head and inflicted multiple injuries with a sharp weapon, leading to his death on the spot. A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During the investigation, Kaushal Kamlesh Landge, a 20-year-old habitual offender from Hadapsar, was identified as the key आरोपी behind the हत्या. Acting under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Vishwajeet Jagtap, a dedicated team launched an intensive manhunt.

Despite the accused frequently changing locations to evade arrest, police relied on technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace him to the Dias Plot slum area in Swargate. A strategic trap was laid, and when the accused attempted to flee upon spotting the police, he was chased down and apprehended after a brief pursuit.

Police personnel, including Balaji Shinde and his team members, played a crucial role in the arrest operation. Authorities confirmed that two minors involved in the crime have also been detained and sent to a juvenile facility. Officials stated that the operation was conducted under the supervision of senior officers, and further investigation is underway to uncover the complete motive and sequence of events in the case.
