Pune-Tirupati flight via Solapur will start from May 1, 2026, operated by Star Air six days a week, improving connectivity and reducing travel time for passengers across Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Pune | April 15, 2026:
In a major boost to regional aviation connectivity, a new flight service between Pune and Tirupati via Solapur has been announced, with operations scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026. The service is part of a broader expansion of air routes aimed at improving connectivity between tier-2 cities and major pilgrimage destinations.

The new route will be operated by Star Air under a multi-leg network connecting Pune, Solapur, and Tirupati. According to officials, the flight will operate six days a week, excluding Saturdays, offering passengers a faster and more convenient travel option compared to existing connecting routes.

As per the announced schedule, the Pune–Solapur–Tirupati corridor will function as part of a combined routing system designed to enhance passenger movement between western Maharashtra and southern India. The service will help reduce dependency on longer connecting flights via metro hubs such as Bengaluru or Hyderabad, which currently dominate this route.

The initiative comes after the Pune airport received additional operational slots, enabling airlines to introduce new regional routes. Aviation authorities have stated that the expansion is aimed at improving access to important religious and commercial destinations while strengthening Pune’s role as a regional aviation hub.

The flight timings indicate that aircraft operating on this route will arrive in Pune from Solapur in the afternoon and proceed towards Solapur shortly after a short turnaround period. On Saturdays, slight adjustments in timing are expected to accommodate operational schedules, though the service pattern will largely remain consistent throughout the week.

Industry experts say the introduction of this route will be particularly beneficial for pilgrims travelling to Tirupati, one of the most visited religious destinations in India, located in Andhra Pradesh. Improved connectivity is also expected to boost tourism and support economic exchanges between Maharashtra and southern states.

Officials associated with the aviation sector have highlighted that the new service aligns with the objectives of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which focuses on making air travel more affordable and accessible in smaller cities. By connecting Pune and Solapur directly to Tirupati, the government aims to reduce travel time, increase passenger convenience, and promote regional development.

The Pune–Tirupati route is also part of a larger expansion plan that includes additional flights from Pune to cities such as Mangaluru and Bagdogra. These new connections are expected to significantly increase passenger traffic at Pune airport and improve its connectivity network across India.

With the launch scheduled for May 1, passengers are expected to benefit from improved scheduling flexibility, reduced travel fatigue, and better access to one of India’s key pilgrimage centres. Authorities believe that the new route will quickly gain popularity among both regular travellers and pilgrims.
