Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth inaugurated the 52nd All India Sainik Schools Principal’s Conference in Kerala, awarding top-performing schools and highlighting the government’s progress in establishing 100 new Sainik Schools nationwide.

Thiruvananthapuram | 08 May 2026: On May 7, 2026, Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) Shri Sanjay Seth officially opened the 52nd All India Sainik Schools Principal’s Conference at Sainik School Kazhakoottam, Keralam. The two-day event, which concludes today, serves as a critical forum for reviewing institutional performance and drafting future policies to strengthen the Sainik School ecosystem in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020.

Addressing leaders from 33 established and 79 newly affiliated Sainik Schools, the RRM praised the institutions for their historic role in producing thousands of officers for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (INA). He emphasized that these schools remain vital in cultivating disciplined and patriotic youth prepared for leadership roles in the Armed Forces.

A major highlight of the conference was the annual Prize Distribution Ceremony, where several institutions were recognized for their outstanding contributions during the 2024-25 academic session:

  • Raksha Mantri Trophy: Awarded to Sainik School Nagrota for sending the highest number of cadets to the NDA and INA in 2025.
  • Academic Excellence (Class XII): Sainik School Kazhakoottam received the Certificate of Merit for the highest academic performance in senior secondary exams.
  • Academic Excellence (Class X): Sainik School Satara was honored with the Certificate of Merit for its Class X academic results.

The conference also provided an update on the government’s ambitious plan to establish 100 new Sainik Schools. To date, 86 schools have received approval, with 79 already operational. The RRM noted that these new additions are expected to mirror the rigorous standards of existing schools, ensuring a uniform quality of education and military preparation across India.

The event saw participation from high-ranking officials, including Joint Secretary Satyajit Mohanty and senior officers from the Sainik Schools Society. Delegates also engaged with the ‘Gyan Mela,’ an exhibition showcasing the latest in educational technology and innovative teaching solutions.
