The State CET Cell has announced the second phase of MHT CET exams between May 9 and 21, offering students another opportunity, with over 4.92 lakh candidates set to appear.

April 29, 2026 | Mumbai: The State Common Entrance Test Cell Maharashtra has announced the schedule for the second phase of the MHT CET examinations, which will be conducted from May 9 to May 21 across the state. A total of 4,92,383 students have registered for this phase, reflecting strong participation from aspirants seeking admission to professional courses.
As per the official timetable, the MBA/MMS CET will be held on May 9, with 53,931 candidates registered. The PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) group examinations are scheduled for May 10 and 11, with 1,16,538 students expected to appear. Subsequently, the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) group exams will be conducted between May 12 and May 21, excluding May 16 and 17. This group has the highest number of registrations, with over 3 lakh candidates.
This year marks a significant shift in the examination pattern, as the CET Cell has introduced a two-attempt system similar to the Joint Entrance Examination. While appearing for at least one attempt is mandatory, the second attempt remains optional for students.

Importantly, for candidates appearing in both attempts, the higher percentile score will be considered for the admission process. The move is aimed at reducing exam-related stress and providing students with an improved opportunity to enhance their performance. Earlier, the first phase of MHT CET witnessed a strong turnout, with 8,33,482 students appearing out of 8,96,236 registered candidates, recording an attendance rate of 92.99 percent.
Officials believe that the introduction of multiple attempts will bring greater flexibility and fairness to the admission process, aligning Maharashtra’s entrance system with national-level competitive exams.
