Wedding
A wedding in Maharashtra faced major disruption when an ST bus booked for the event went to the wrong village and later broke down en route, causing hours of delay.
Maharashtra | December 10, 2025:The ST Transport Corporation’s negligent management at its Nandgaon depot has led to significant inconvenience for passengers, prompting the District Consumer Forum to intervene. A bus booked for a wedding reached an incorrect village due to wrong address information and subsequently broke down on the way, delaying the wedding by several hours.

The aggrieved groom’s family filed a formal complaint with the consumer forum, which reviewed the incident and ruled in favor of the complainant, awarding a total compensation of ₹55,000. Authorities highlighted that poor coordination and mismanagement at the depot were primarily responsible for the disruption.

This case underscores the challenges faced by passengers relying on public transport in Maharashtra, particularly during important personal events. It also serves as a warning to transport authorities to maintain operational accountability, ensure accurate communication, and prevent avoidable mishaps that impact the public.
