Two Candidates Allege Paper Leak in MPSC Drug Inspector Exam; Commission Denies Charge
Two candidates have alleged a paper leak and irregularities in the MPSC Drug Inspector examination held on March 22, prompting a police complaint, even as the Maharashtra Public Service Commission denies any breach.

Mumbai: Allegations of a paper leak and malpractice have surfaced around the Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s (MPSC) Drug Inspector (Group-B) recruitment examination held on March 22, with two candidates formally lodging complaints. Around 33,000 aspirants had appeared for the exam, which was conducted for 154 vacant posts.
Candidates Rushikesh Gangarde and Gaurav Patil alleged that exam questions had circulated on WhatsApp before the test began, and also pointed to inconsistencies in the scoring pattern. Both candidates filed formal complaints regarding the matter, though Patil has since withdrawn his complaint.
Social media posts claimed that the question paper for the March 22, 2026 exam had reached certain candidates two days in advance. It was further alleged that some candidates on the merit list had suspiciously high scores, while others who scored below the cut-off were still called for interviews. A complaint regarding these allegations has reportedly been submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as well.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) MLA Rohit Pawar demanded that the complaints emailed by the two students be investigated within 15 days, warning of an agitation if the probe is not conducted within that period.
Taking cognizance of the viral claims, MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar said the commission would conduct a thorough verification of the allegations and take appropriate legal action. He added that a formal complaint would be lodged with the police against those responsible, if the allegations are found to have merit.
The commission has maintained that its examination process remains secure, even as it proceeds with an internal inquiry into the claims raised by the candidates.
