Minister Chhagan Bhujbal’s upcoming MahaElgar Sabha in Beed faces intense opposition from Maratha coordinators. They demand his resignation for opposing the September 2 GR and warn against his participation.

Beed, Maharashtra | October 11, 2025 — Minister Chhagan Bhujbal is facing significant opposition ahead of his scheduled MahaElgar Sabha in Beed on October 17. The protest is led by prominent Maratha coordinator Gangadhar Kalkute, who has issued a stern warning to Bhujbal and his supporters.

Kalkute emphasized that the opposition is not directed at the OBC community or the MahaElgar Sabha itself but specifically at Bhujbal. He criticized Bhujbal for opposing the September 2 Government Resolution (GR) that granted Kunbi certificates to Marathas, a move that has been a point of contention between Maratha and OBC communities.

Kalkute further demanded Bhujbal’s resignation from his ministerial position, stating that if Bhujbal insists on attending the Beed event, he should step down from his official duties. He warned that if Bhujbal proceeds without resigning, the Maratha community would not allow him to set foot in Beed, even through unconventional means.

The upcoming MahaElgar Sabha is organized by Bhujbal and other OBC leaders, including Pankaja Munde and Dhananjay Munde, with the primary agenda of demanding the revocation of the September 2 GR. The event is seen as a significant political move to address OBC concerns and assert their stance on the reservation issue.

The situation in Beed is rapidly developing, with both Maratha and OBC communities preparing for the upcoming political showdown. The outcome of this confrontation could have lasting implications for the political landscape in Maharashtra, especially concerning reservation policies and community relations.
