Businessman Robbed of ₹1.3 Lakh on Bajirao Road in Pune

A businessman was threatened and robbed of ₹1.3 lakh in cash by two assailants on Bajirao Road, Pune. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Pune, Oct 18, 2025 — A businessman was robbed of ₹1.3 lakh in cash on Bajirao Road, Pune, in a daring incident on October 16. The victim, 60-year-old Chandrakant Chhadwa, had just closed his imitation jewellery shop on Kumthekar Road in Sadashiv Peth and was returning home when the crime occurred. The cash was kept in his motorcycle’s storage compartment.

As Chhadwa was passing near Telephone Bhavan on Bajirao Road, two men on a motorcycle allegedly blocked his way, threatened him, and took the cash before fleeing. The robbers escaped at high speed, leaving the victim shocked.

Chhadwa filed a complaint with Khadak Police Station, prompting authorities to register a case against the unidentified assailants. Senior Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan visited the site, while Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale is leading the investigation. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed to trace the culprits.

This incident underscores concerns about security in commercial zones, especially during late hours. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious, avoid carrying large amounts of cash in public, and report suspicious activities immediately.
