Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde says his faction doesn’t need to stage a flashy power display ahead of municipal elections arguing they will win on grassroots strength, not theatrics.
Mumbai | 17 November 2025: With Maharashtra’s municipal elections drawing near, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde has pushed back against suggestions that his faction should stage a “show of strength” to signal dominance. Speaking at a public event, Shinde emphasized that his party’s success will come from its ground-level work, not symbolic displays or power posturing.
He critiqued the recent alliance between the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Shiv Sena (UBT), calling it “family politics” rather than a united front built on Maharashtra’s welfare. According to him, the Thackeray family’s political maneuvering is being prioritized over real governance.
Shinde also defended his party’s track record, promising bold infrastructure moves like “100% concrete, pothole-free” roads in Mumbai in the coming years.
He challenged his critics to debate past governance, particularly during the 25 years when the Thackeray-led faction controlled the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
While other parties prepare for showy rallies, Shinde is calling for substance over spectacle arguing that civic change is built through development and on-the-ground leadership, not extravagant demonstrations of political might.
