Pune | November17 ,2025: In a shocking act of violence, a 22-year-old youth, identified as Taukeer Sheikh (resident of Dhankawdi), was found brutally murdered in the parking area of a society near Sinhgad Road, in the vicinity of Sinhgad College, Pune. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when five attackers reportedly descended on the victim, repeatedly striking him with sickles and then smashing his head with stones, according to initial investigations.

Police arrived at the scene after residents alerted them to a body lying in a parking space near “Krishna Kunj” building, Minakshipuram, Wadgaon Budruk. On inspection, they found multiple injuries on the victim’s head and limbs, and blood-spattered surroundings indicating a violent struggle. A preliminary forensic check suggests the fatal blows were inflicted by a sharp weapon (sickle) and followed by heavy blunt-force trauma via stones.

Law-enforcement officials believe this was a pre-meditated attack, given the nature of the injuries and the number of assailants involved. Reports indicate that of the five attackers, two may be juveniles, a development that has raised concerns regarding youth involvement in extreme violence.

The case has triggered a full investigation by the Sinhgad Road Police Station, including collection of CCTV footage, forensic evidence and witness statements. The motive remains under review, with police examining possibilities of gang-rivalry, personal animosity or prior dispute leading to the attack. The body has been sent to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem and detectives are already blitzing the area for leads.

Local residents in the Minakshipuram/Wadgaon Budruk area are shaken by the sheer brutality of the murder. Many expressed fear and said that incidents of gang-style attacks with weapons have been rising in the Sinhgad Road corridor—a zone that has seen increasing reports of juvenile crime, weapon use and public violence in recent years.
