Nashik Police have registered a case against individuals sharing sensitive videos linked to the Ashok Kharat case, urging citizens and media to avoid circulating such content.

Nashik | 26 March, 2026: Taking serious note of the circulation of obscene videos related to the Ashok Kharat case, Nashik Police have initiated strict action and registered a criminal case against three individuals from Ahilyanagar district. The videos, reportedly involving victims in the ongoing sexual exploitation case, were shared on social media platforms, raising concerns over privacy violations and ethical reporting. Police officials confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused at the earliest.

Authorities have issued a strong appeal to citizens, journalists, and social media users to refrain from sharing or forwarding such sensitive content, emphasizing the need to protect the dignity and identity of the victims. Meanwhile, the investigation into the broader case against Kharat has intensified. A Special Investigation Team (SIT), along with forensic experts, is actively examining evidence and recording statements. Several victims have been called for further inquiry at Kharat’s office premises as part of the ongoing probe.

So far, a total of eight cases related to sexual exploitation and fraud have been registered against Kharat. In a related development, investigators have also seized a 20-foot plastic snake allegedly used by the accused during so-called religious rituals. A separate case has been filed under anti-superstition laws in connection with these activities. Police reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating laws by spreading objectionable material online.
