St. Xavier’s School, Pune Secures Landmark CBSE Affiliation for Grades IX and X

Pune | May 4, 2026: In a significant milestone for the city’s education sector, St. Xavier’s School, Pune has received official upgradation and affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education for Grades IX and X. The long-awaited approval marks a proud achievement for the institution and its wider Xaverite community. With this recognition, the school is set to admit its first batch of Grade IX students in the academic year 2027–28. These students are expected to appear for the school’s first Grade X CBSE Board Examination in March 2029.

School authorities described the development as a major step forward in strengthening academic opportunities for students in Pune. School Manager Rev. Fr. Dr. Kenneth Misquitta expressed happiness over the achievement and thanked the teaching and administrative staff for their years of dedication, commitment, and sustained efforts that made the affiliation possible. Principal Thaddeus Kohli also acknowledged the trust shown by parents and guardians in the institution’s vision. He said the support of the parent community had played a vital role in the school’s growth and described the affiliation as a collective success.

The Poona Catholic Educational Association, which manages the institution, reaffirmed its commitment to offering quality education and holistic development as the school enters a new phase of expansion.

Education observers note that affiliation for secondary grades often opens doors for stronger academic planning, broader curriculum development, and greater continuity for students within the same institution.
