Amazon has expanded its smart home portfolio in India with the launch of two new Alexa-powered smart speakers the Echo Dot Max and the new-generation Echo Studio. The devices are aimed at users seeking premium audio performance, advanced smart home controls and deeper integration with Amazon’s evolving artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The Echo Dot Max is being positioned as the company’s most advanced Echo Dot speaker to date. It features a redesigned two-way speaker system with a dedicated woofer and tweeter, offering significantly improved bass and clearer sound output compared to previous models. Amazon claims the device delivers nearly three times the bass performance of the Echo Dot (5th Generation), while also automatically adapting audio based on room acoustics.

The Echo Studio, meanwhile, focuses on immersive home entertainment. The smart speaker comes with Dolby Atmos-powered spatial audio support, a high-excursion woofer and multiple full-range drivers designed to create room-filling sound. Amazon has also introduced a refreshed spherical design aimed at blending into modern home interiors while maintaining acoustic performance.

Both devices are powered by Amazon’s custom-built AZ3 series chips and support smart home standards including Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, Matter and Bluetooth. The speakers also feature Omnisense technology, which uses motion, presence and temperature detection to automate smart home routines. According to the company, these capabilities are designed to make Alexa more proactive and responsive within connected households.

The Echo Dot Max is available in Graphite, Glacier White and Amethyst colour variants and is priced at ₹10,999. The Echo Studio is priced at ₹23,999 and comes in Graphite and Glacier White options. Both products are available through Amazon India and select retail platforms.

The launch reflects Amazon’s growing focus on ambient AI experiences and premium smart home ecosystems, as competition intensifies in India’s connected device market. Industry analysts believe the new devices could appeal to consumers looking for enhanced audio quality alongside intelligent home automation features.
