In a significant development in the ongoing coaching centre firing case, a court in Patna has granted interim protection from arrest to educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, providing temporary relief amid an intensifying legal battle.

The case stems from an incident that occurred outside his coaching institute earlier this month, when a group of individuals allegedly vandalised the premises, damaged property, and created unrest in the area. Following the disturbance, videos that surfaced online reportedly showed armed security guards associated with the institute firing shots during the confrontation.
Police subsequently detained and arrested two security guards after examining video evidence and conducting an investigation. Authorities alleged that the guards discharged their licensed weapons during the incident and registered charges against them under relevant legal provisions. The weapons involved were also seized for forensic examination.
The controversy deepened after an FIR was registered naming Khan Sir alongside the guards. Investigators are examining claims regarding the circumstances under which the firing took place, while statements made during the probe have become a key focus of the case.
Seeking legal relief, Khan Sir approached the court with an anticipatory bail plea, arguing that the allegations against him were unfounded. The court has now granted him interim protection from arrest, ensuring that no coercive action can be taken against him while legal proceedings continue.

The incident has attracted widespread attention across Bihar’s competitive coaching sector, where rivalries among institutions have often led to disputes. The firing allegations emerged shortly after reports of vandalism and attacks on the institute, further complicating the investigation.
Police officials have stated that the probe remains ongoing and that all aspects of the case, including the role of those involved in the violence and the subsequent firing, will be examined before further action is taken. The next phase of court proceedings is expected to determine the course of the case in the coming weeks
